Welcome to Åsa – a haven by the sea
Åsa is a traditional bathing resort where visitors have enjoyed the natural sandy beaches since sea bathing became popular in the 1920s. At Åsa, you can stay right down on the beach and still benefit from a central location in the ”village”, within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and other facilities.
Åsa is situated in the northern part of the province of Halland. This is where the rocky shores of the North West Coast merge with the long, shallow beaches of the South West Coast. So you don’t have to choose – you can enjoy both! Åsa is the perfect place for visitors who want to stay close to everything but, still come ”home” to peace and quiet in the evenings. With Gothenburg only 30 minutes to the north and Varberg twenty minutes in the opposite direction, Åsa is the ideal base for exploring the whole of the West Coast. You can make a daytrip to Smögen for a taste of the local prawns, and still be home in time for a sunset swim. At Åsa, you take each day as it comes, and let your mood decide what you do next. Whether you enjoy an active holiday, excursions, vibrant city life or peace and quiet on the beach, it’s all here!
We have 200 pitches for caravans, motor caravans and tents. Almost all pitches have electricity points. If you don’t bring your holiday home with you, you can stay at the small youth hostel.
Lots of our guests return year after year. Many of them used to come here as children and are now bringing their own children and grandchildren. New guests often end up staying longer than planned. They may book a few extra days, or return later in the season – on the way back from wherever they have been. Once they have found it, they seem reluctant to leave such an idyllic spot.
